Italian design studio Pininfarina has completed Yachthouse, a landmark residential development that now stands as the tallest building in Brazil. Located in Balneário Camboriú, a coastal city known for its rapid vertical growth, the project reflects the city’s ambition to position itself as a global reference for high-rise residential architecture.
Developed by Pasqualotto & GT, Yachthouse consists of two mirrored residential towers, each rising 81 storeys to a height of 294 metres. Just six metres below the supertall threshold, the twin towers dominate the city’s dense coastal skyline and redefine the scale of residential construction in Latin America.

The architectural composition is anchored by a shared triangular podium, a form directly inspired by the nearby Marina Tedesco. According to Pininfarina, the base references the keel of a yacht, establishing a clear connection between the project’s nautical context and its vertical expression. From this podium, the towers rise as symmetrical volumes, carefully proportioned to maintain visual balance despite their extreme height.
From a façade perspective, Yachthouse is defined by a dark, reflective glazed envelope, articulated with horizontal aluminium bands integrated across the elevation. These elements are not purely aesthetic: they function as solar shading devices, helping control heat gain while reinforcing the building’s horizontal rhythm. The combination of reflective glass and aluminium creates a dynamic surface that responds to changing daylight and coastal conditions.

Each tower is capped with a notched crown, while an opaque vertical spine runs along the rear elevation, accommodating technical systems and reinforcing the towers’ structural and visual clarity. The façade strategy prioritises performance, durability, and a refined luxury appearance aligned with the project’s residential positioning.
Completed in 2024, Yachthouse surpassed the city’s former height record holder, One Tower, by approximately four metres. Decorative pinnacles integrated at the top of the towers contributed to the final measured height, according to local reports.

Beyond scale, Yachthouse reflects Balneário Camboriú’s unique urban model, where zoning regulations allow developers to purchase additional height. Within this context, the project is positioned not only as a residential development, but as a catalyst for ongoing urban densification and regeneration along the coastline.
