On May 15, 2026, the 6th edition of the SHARE Cyprus International Architecture Forum transformed Nicosia into a major regional meeting point for architecture, urbanism, and design innovation. Gathering internationally recognised architects, policymakers, academics, and industry leaders, the forum focused on the future of sustainable cities, heritage preservation, circular construction, materiality, and contemporary placemaking.
Organised under the SHARE Architects platform, the event reinforced its role as a catalyst for professional exchange across Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, and the Caucasus. The forum was coordinated in collaboration with key architectural institutions in Cyprus, guided by a committee including Constantinos Constanti, President of ETEK, Alkis Dikaios, President of the Cyprus Architects Association, Christos Christodoulou, SHARE Society Ambassador in Cyprus, and Florin Mindirigiu, Co-founder of SHARE Architects.

One of the defining moments of the event was the presentation of the SHARE Architecture Awards 2025 winners. Elena K. Tsolakis of Kyriakos Tsolakis Architects presented the Troodos Observatory, recognised as the overall winner. In the Culture and Heritage category, Georgios Kalavas of Agisilaou & Kalavas Architectural Workshop presented the “Aphrodite” Thematic Route in Ineia, Paphos, while MSSM Associates received an honourable mention for The Origami House in Nicosia.
The forum programme unfolded through three thematic sessions. The first, “Building on Memory: Inspiring Architecture in Heritage Structures,” explored how architecture can reinterpret historical context and urban memory. Presentations ranged from adaptive masterplanning strategies to educational and mixed-use developments shaped by human-centric design approaches.

The second session, “Designing the Future City,” focused on large-scale urban development, innovation, and global planning strategies. International firms presented projects spanning luxury waterfront masterplans, institutional campuses, and urban headquarters. Among the highlights were presentations by Zaha Hadid Architects on the IBTEC Masterplan in Malaysia and BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group on Google’s Bay View and King’s Cross campuses.
The closing session, “Beyond Green: Rethinking Architecture for Sustainability,” addressed circularity, placemaking, craftsmanship, and environmental responsibility. Tobias Wallisser of LAVA – Laboratory for Visionary Architecture presented the German Pavilion for EXPO 2025 Osaka as a model for circular construction, while Jeremy Smith of Irving Smith Architects examined timber innovation and architecture integrated within sensitive landscapes.

The forum concluded with the CFI After Talks networking event, extending discussions beyond the conference stage and reinforcing SHARE Architects’ mission of building stronger international architectural communities through dialogue, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas.
