In 2026, LiSEC celebrates a remarkable milestone: 65 years of continuous innovation in glass processing technology. To mark this anniversary, the company is launching 65 Facets of LiSEC, a special series highlighting the people, milestones and technologies that have shaped one of the global glass industry’s most respected names.
From a Small Workshop to a Global Technology Leader
LiSEC’s story began in 1961, when founder Peter Lisec established the company in Hausmening, Austria. What started as a business focused on acrylic glass processing and mirror manufacturing quickly evolved into something far more influential.

By 1966, LiSEC had already entered industrial insulating glass production. During this early phase, the company began developing machines and technical aids for its own use, laying the foundation for what would later become its core expertise: advanced glass processing machinery designed by practitioners, for practitioners.
Pioneering Insulating Glass Technologies
The decision to export glass processing machines in 1971 marked a turning point. Throughout the 1970s, LiSEC further refined key technologies for modern insulating glass production, strengthening its position as a technology pioneer at a time when global demand for high-performance glazing was accelerating.
This focus on continuous development culminated in 1993 with the founding of LISEC Maschinenbau GmbH in Seitenstetten, which remains the company’s sole production site to this day, a clear commitment to quality, precision engineering and in-house manufacturing.

International Growth and Strong Leadership
LiSEC’s international journey gained momentum in 1999 with the establishment of global subsidiaries, allowing the company to support customers more closely across key markets worldwide.
Founder Peter Lisec continued to shape the company’s culture and direction until his passing in 2009. His legacy of technical excellence and long-term thinking remains deeply embedded in the organisation.
Since 2018, LiSEC has been led by CEO Gottfried Brunbauer and CFO Oliver Pichler, guiding the company through a period of strategic growth, digital transformation and organisational expansion. Recognition followed in 2019, when LiSEC was named Best Family Business in Lower Austria.

Engineering the Future
LiSEC’s commitment to innovation is tangible. In 2023, the company opened a new 2,000 m² engineering centre with 140 modern workstations, reinforcing its focus on research, development and automation. In 2025, construction began on a new central office, a further investment in the company’s long-term future.
After 65 years, LiSEC stands as a global benchmark for glass processing technology, built on engineering expertise, family values and an unwavering commitment to quality. The 65 Facets of LiSEC series offers a glimpse into the many elements that have shaped this journey, while underlining one clear message: LiSEC’s future is being built with the same precision and vision that defined its past.
