Yale Door and Window Solutions (Yale DWS) has once again secured the FGIA Accredited Component Laboratory Certificate for 2026, reaffirming its compliance with AAMA 904 testing standards. The accreditation applies to its Cheltenham Test Centre, which remains the only FGIA-accredited laboratory to AAMA 904 outside the United States, according to the company.
The AAMA Laboratory Accreditation Programme, operated by the Fenestration & Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA), recognises laboratories capable of testing products against rigorous AAMA performance standards. The AAMA 904 specification specifically covers the performance requirements of multi-bar hinges used in window applications.
With the renewed certification, Yale can continue to support its US customer base for its Storm, Sterling and SAT heavy-duty hinge ranges through a fully third-party-accredited testing facility. This ensures that products meet stringent American standards for durability, load resistance and corrosion performance, offering independently verified data on reliability and long-term operation.
The accreditation further strengthens the position of Assa Abloy within the US fenestration sector, underlining continued investment in advanced testing infrastructure and quality assurance.
Richard Gurmin, Director and Head of Export at Yale DWS, highlighted the importance of the Cheltenham Centre of Excellence for Window Products, noting its capability to deliver endurance, static load and corrosion testing to the highest industry benchmarks.
