SORG Polska Successfully Completes Furnace Hot Repair at Stoelzle Częstochowa

SORG Polska has successfully completed hot repair works on Furnace No. 1 at the Stoelzle Częstochowa glass plant in Poland, following the planned intervention previously reported by GlassBalkan. (Stoelzle)

After several months of preparation and engineering coordination, SORG Polska worked in close cooperation with the Stoelzle Częstochowa team to execute the full furnace draining and repair campaign. The intervention was carried out under strict operational and safety conditions, ensuring continuity of technical standards throughout the process.

The hot repair is designed to extend the operational life of the furnace by several years and maintain stable production performance for high-quality container glass manufacturing.

The scope of works included complete furnace draining, furnace bottom repair, protective overcoating, replacement of the working end and forehearth, extensive cleaning of furnace chambers, and electrode replacement. Following mechanical works, the team completed controlled heating and refilling of the furnace to restore production conditions.

More than 120 SORG Polska employees and subcontractors participated in the project. Despite the complexity of the intervention and a tight 17-day glass-to-glass schedule, the works were completed one day ahead of plan.

The project was executed safely, efficiently, and in line with the client’s expectations, demonstrating strong technical execution under time-critical conditions.
