Vitro Launches EcoArmor™ Protective Topcoat for Solarban® Glass

Vitro Architectural Glass has introduced EcoArmor™ Protective Topcoat, an advanced surface coating designed to protect and enhance the performance of select Solarban® solar control low-e glass products.

Engineered for durability across the entire value chain, EcoArmor™ provides full-surface protection during transit, storage, and fabrication – without the need for temporary films or additional removal steps. Unlike traditional protective solutions, the coating remains on the glass through tempering, eliminating extra labor, reducing waste, and lowering disposal costs.

Available initially on Solarban® 90 glass, the topcoat has demonstrated clear performance gains in fabrication environments. Real-world trials show tempering cycle times reduced by 10–20%, alongside improved visual quality through minimized roll wave distortion and up to 33% less edge kink on glass with pre-temper edge deletion.

EcoArmor™ is fully compatible with standard fabrication processes, including cutting, seaming, and washing. Fabricators can integrate the product into existing production lines without requiring specialized equipment or handling procedures.
