The GIMAV has officially launched an entrepreneurial mission to Casablanca, running from May 4 to 7, 2026, aimed at strengthening ties between Italian glass technology providers and the rapidly expanding Moroccan market. Organised in collaboration with ITA – ICE Casablanca, the initiative focuses on fostering business development, networking, and direct engagement with local industry stakeholders.
Morocco has emerged as a key destination for the sector, with Italian exports of glass processing technologies increasing by an impressive 95% in 2024. This growth is largely driven by major industrial segments, including automotive manufacturing, construction linked to the 2030 FIFA World Cup infrastructure boom, and a fast-developing packaging and bottling industry. The absence of local machinery manufacturers further positions Italian companies as strong partners, particularly in a competitive landscape that includes suppliers from Asia and the Mediterranean.
The mission brings together leading companies such as Mappi International, Bovone, Cugher Glass, Neptun, and Pilkington Italia, among others, representing the excellence of Italian glass technology.
The programme includes an institutional opening session at the Hotel Barceló Anfa, B2B meetings with 35 Moroccan operators, and site visits to key industrial facilities such as MEDZ Kenitra Free Zone and major companies like JET GLASS INDUSTRY. These activities are designed to provide participants with direct insight into local operations and investment opportunities.
