Starglass is marking 21 years of collaboration with Mika Eronen, Senior Glass Processing Specialist at Global Glass Specialists, a partnership built on trust, shared expertise and long-term technical development.

The collaboration began in 2004, when Mika Eronen visited Starglass’ production facility in Logroño, Spain, for his first international on-site consulting assignment. What started as an early professional engagement evolved into one of the longest and most consistent technical collaborations in Eronen’s more than 26-year international career in the glass industry.

Over the past two decades, the partnership has focused on continuous process improvement and technical optimisation in curved, tempered and laminated glass production. Areas of cooperation have included hot forming and lamination process development, bending furnace optimisation to improve efficiency and yield, tooling and machinery consulting, and the exchange of operational and material-related expertise.

According to Starglass, the longevity of the collaboration lies in the combination of strong in-house engineering capabilities and Mika Eronen’s hands-on, field-proven knowledge of flat glass behaviour and processing. This approach has supported the company in refining complex and large-scale curved glass processes and maintaining consistent quality for demanding applications.
