HEGLA has taken a significant strategic step by entering the field of wet glass machining through the acquisition of RS technology, further strengthening its position in advanced glass processing and automation solutions. The agreement was signed by HEGLA Managing Directors Jochen H. Hesselbach and Bernhard Hötger together with RS technology shareholder and Managing Director Friedrich Stimpfig, under which HEGLA acquires all limited partnership shares of the company.

Following the acquisition, the company will operate under the name HEGLA-RS technology, with production of glass processing machines and water treatment systems continuing at the existing site in Fürth, near Nuremberg. This ensures continuity in manufacturing expertise while integrating RS technology into HEGLA’s broader industrial ecosystem.

The move significantly expands HEGLA’s portfolio, adding high-quality solutions for edge processing, drilling, milling of flat glass, and dome cutting. Combined with HEGLA’s established strengths in automation, storage, and handling systems, the acquisition enables the delivery of fully integrated, networked processing solutions.

Through HEGLA’s international sales and service network, customers of HEGLA-RS technology will benefit from long-term spare parts availability, fast technical support, and a strengthened global presence, reinforcing HEGLA’s commitment to innovation, reliability, and future-oriented glass processing technologies.
