Ardagh Glass Packaging-Europe (AGP-Europe), part of Ardagh Group, has collaborated with The Absolut Company International to produce Absolut Haring, the latest artist-edition bottle celebrating the legacy of American pop artist Keith Haring. The limited-edition design draws inspiration from Haring’s iconic 1986 artwork featuring the Absolut vodka bottle, continuing the brand’s long-standing dialogue between art, design, and packaging.
Developed in partnership with global design agency Pearlfisher, the bottle was produced exclusively at Ardagh Glass Packaging’s facility in Limmared, Sweden. The design translates Haring’s instantly recognisable visual language into glass through finely executed debossed dancing figures wrapped around the bottle. A vibrant yellow screen-printed panel has been carefully aligned with the debossing; when viewed through the clear glass, it creates a reflective illusion that makes the entire bottle appear yellow.
According to Ardagh Glass Packaging, achieving this effect required exceptional precision. Uniform depth and width of the debossed artwork, combined with exact alignment of the screen printing, were critical to ensuring a flawless visual outcome.
Sustainability also plays a key role in the project. Each Absolut Haring bottle is manufactured using more than 60% recycled glass cullet, reflecting the shared environmental commitments of both companies.
Initially launched in Travel Retail, the artist-edition bottle has since been rolled out across global markets, reinforcing Absolut’s tradition of using glass as a creative canvas for artistic expression.
