FGIA Launches InstallationMasters® 3.0 with Enhanced Training and Expanded Accessibility

The Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA) has officially released InstallationMasters® 3.0, a significantly updated version of its nationally recognized training and certification program for installers of windows and exterior glass doors. Designed for residential and light commercial applications, the program supports both new construction and replacement markets while introducing a more modern, accessible learning experience.

According to Aaron Blom, InstallationMasters® Lead Instructor, the updated program represents a major step forward in installer education. “FGIA is thrilled to release a new version of its long-standing, flagship training program considered to be the most comprehensive education for installation strategies,” he said.

A key focus of the revision was improving engagement and usability. The new curriculum replaces much of the previous text-heavy content with a highly visual learning model. Course materials are now color-coded by topic, architectural diagrams and imagery have been updated, and presentations include integrated speaker notes to support instructors and encourage classroom discussion. Redundant content has also been removed to streamline training delivery.

InstallationMasters® 3.0 also expands its coverage of industry standards, incorporating new content from FMA/AAMA 200, 300, and 400. These standards address installation practices for windows and exterior doors in challenging wind and water exposure conditions and are particularly important because they are referenced by the Florida Building Code.

The updated program introduces greater flexibility for instructors as well. A single instructor credential now covers both replacement and new construction installation strategies, allowing accredited trainers to customize courses based on participant needs.

To broaden accessibility, FGIA has also launched a Spanish-language training segment. Training manuals, study guides, and exams are now available in Spanish, with self-study options providing three months of access. Live Spanish-language classes can also be arranged through FGIA.
