Saint-Gobain has appointed Annica Hagen as Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer (CAIO) and a member of the Group Executive Committee, effective September 1, 2026. The newly created position places AI directly within the leadership structure of one of the world’s largest construction-materials groups.
Hagen’s mandate is to structure, prioritise and scale existing AI initiatives across Saint-Gobain’s countries and businesses. The objective is to turn locally developed applications into solutions that can be deployed more broadly, supporting the Group’s “Lead & Grow” strategy through improved operational performance, innovation, sustainable growth and customer value.
Her appointment comes as Saint-Gobain operates at significant global scale. The Group reported €46.5 billion in sales in 2025, employs approximately 162,000 people and operates in 81 countries. Its activities include construction materials, insulation, façades, building distribution and glass.
Hagen joined Saint-Gobain in May 2023 as CEO of Saint-Gobain Distribution Sweden and became CEO Distribution for the Nordic and Baltic countries in 2025. Before Saint-Gobain, she held leadership positions at Accenture, Electrolux, The Absolut Company, Nobia Sweden and Åhléns. She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Economics from the Gothenburg School of Economics.
