Italian glass processor Zanatta Vetro has strengthened its production capabilities with a Glaston Jumbo Series flat tempering furnace, combining oversized glass processing with automated tempering control. The investment, made in 2025, supports the company’s strategy of increasing capacity, improving quality and accessing new architectural glass markets.
Founded in 1972 and headquartered in Montebelluna, Italy, around 60 km northwest of Venice, Zanatta Vetro specializes in oversized insulating, heat-treated and laminated glass. Its portfolio includes glass supplied for major architectural projects such as Galeries Lafayette in Luxembourg, the Dior store in San Francisco and Torre Diamante in Milan, a 140-metre-high landmark.
The new Glaston line was fully installed and commissioned by October 2025. Designed to process both smaller formats and ultra-large architectural glass, the Jumbo Series integrates advanced heating control and intelligent convection technology. These systems are particularly important for demanding applications where optical quality and low distortion are critical.
According to Gianluca Gastaldon, Sales Manager at Zanatta Vetro, low distortion has been one of the most significant benefits of the installation.
A major productivity gain comes from Glaston Autopilot, which the company has been operating continuously for several months. The automation system manages key tempering parameters automatically, reducing the need for manual adjustments and helping maintain consistent results between production shifts.
For operators, the workflow is substantially simplified: the glass is loaded, while Autopilot manages the tempering process. Zanatta Vetro reports faster and more efficient daily production, stable quality and reduced energy consumption.
