Vidrala has taken a significant step in its international growth strategy by signing a binding agreement to acquire 100% of Cristalerías Toro, a Chilean manufacturer of glass containers based in the metropolitan area of Santiago de Chile. Valued at approximately €77 million, the transaction is expected to be completed in early 2026, subject to the fulfilment of standard conditions linked to the group’s industrial model.

Cristalerías Toro specialises in the production and sale of glass packaging for the food and beverage sectors, serving a broad customer base that includes several global brands. This profile closely complements Vidrala’s existing commercial portfolio and strengthens its ability to support strategic customers across multiple regions.

The acquisition marks a new milestone in Vidrala’s geographical diversification, reinforcing its industrial footprint in Latin America. Alongside its established operations in Southern Europe, the United Kingdom and Brazil, the addition of an industrial base in Chile positions the group in a market with a strong agri-food, beverage and winemaking tradition.

From a financial perspective, Vidrala expects to maintain a solid balance sheet following the transaction, with consolidated net debt remaining consistently below 0.5 times annual EBITDA. The group also highlighted the strong track record and expertise of the Cristalerías Toro team, expressing confidence that their experience will support a long-term project aligned with the evolving challenges and opportunities of the glass packaging industry.
