The Wasl Tower is a bold new addition to Dubai’s skyline, rising 302 metres in a pivotal position along Sheikh Zayed Road. Designed by UNStudio for wasl LLC Asset Management Group, the tower stands as a mixed-use landmark that brings together architecture, infrastructure, and urban life in one continuous vertical structure.
Defined by one of the world’s tallest ceramic façades, the tower features over 3,000 fins that wrap its surface. This system is not only visually distinctive but also environmentally responsive, designed to provide shading and reduce solar gain in Dubai’s extreme desert climate. Through advanced passive cooling strategies and façade optimisation, the building sets a new benchmark for climate-adaptive high-rise design.

The architectural concept is expressed through a striking “contrapposto” form, inspired by Figures in Motion. This creates a sense of dynamic balance, reflecting Dubai’s fast-moving, interconnected urban environment. Positioned between the Burj Khalifa and City Walk, the tower acts as a physical and symbolic connector within the city’s evolving core.
Wasl Tower introduces a layered mixed-use programme across approximately 107,539 m², combining residential, commercial offices, retail, and a luxury hotel operated by Mandarin Oriental. Public spaces are elevated above ground level, redefining vertical circulation and creating new social environments within the tower itself.

Its location directly opposite the Burj Khalifa along Sheikh Zayed Road reinforces its role as a counterpart landmark, while a pedestrian bridge connects it to the Burj Khalifa Metro Station, strengthening urban mobility and accessibility.
Currently in progress, Wasl Tower reflects a broader ambition: to merge sustainability, density, and experience into a single architectural system that responds to both climate and city life.
