“The Veil”: How Halisof Technologies is Engineering the Building Envelope

Within the rapidly evolving Balkan construction sector, Halisof Technologies has emerged as a specialized façade and aluminium systems manufacturer focused on precision engineering, process control, and performance consistency. The company operates as part of Halisof sh.p.k., reflecting a vertically integrated approach to modern construction manufacturing and delivery.

One of the most significant ongoing developments involving Halisof Technologies is “The Veil,” a large-scale resort project located in Dhërmi, Albania. Designed by the internationally recognized studio Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura, the project introduces a sensitive architectural approach that integrates built form into the natural coastal forest landscape of the Ionian coastline.

“The Veil” consists of 366 apartments and 77 villas distributed across a steep, wooded terrain. Rather than imposing a rigid urban grid, the development follows the natural contours of the site, creating a layered composition of buildings embedded within vegetation. This design approach requires highly coordinated façade systems capable of adapting to complex geometries while maintaining structural and environmental performance.

Halisof Technologies will play a critical role in the execution of the building envelope systems for the project. Its scope includes aluminium windows and doors, sliding systems, and façade assemblies that form the environmental interface of the buildings. These systems are based on advanced European profiles, including Reynaers Aluminium solutions, which are engineered to meet strict standards for thermal insulation, air tightness, water resistance, and wind load performance.

However, the true value of Halisof Technologies lies not only in the specification of systems but in execution quality. By centralizing fabrication within its controlled production facility in Xhafzotaj, the company ensures that each façade component is manufactured with high precision. This reduces deviations commonly associated with on-site assembly and enhances consistency across large-scale façade surfaces.

In projects like “The Veil,” where architectural intent relies heavily on seamless visual continuity and environmental responsiveness, fabrication accuracy is essential. The façade elements must align precisely with structural modules, accommodate thermal movement, and maintain long-term performance under coastal climate conditions.

The project also reflects broader industry trends toward Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA), where construction processes are increasingly shifted off-site to improve quality, reduce waste, and accelerate delivery timelines. Halisof Technologies’ manufacturing-led approach aligns directly with this shift, positioning it as a key contributor to more industrialized and controlled construction methods in the region.
