The sixteenth edition of the VETECO–ASEFAVE Awards has officially been launched, reaffirming its role as a key platform for recognising excellence across the façade, window, and solar protection sectors. Organised by ASEFAVEwithin the framework of VETECO, the awards continue to spotlight innovation, sustainability, and technical advancement in building envelope solutions.

Applications will be open from 6 May to 16 September 2026, with shortlisted candidates to be announced on 7 October. Winners will be revealed during the official ceremony on 12 November, held as part of Semana Internacional de la Construcción at IFEMA Madrid.

The awards maintain their established categories: Best Façade, Best Window, and Best Solar Shading Project. These are complemented by the Final Year Project Award, aimed at encouraging emerging talent to explore innovative, sustainable, and energy-efficient approaches to the building envelope. Evaluation criteria emphasise design quality, industrialisation, execution, and environmental performance, with solar shading projects additionally assessed for their impact on natural light and occupant comfort.

According to Pablo Martín, this year’s edition reflects the sector’s evolving priorities, where sustainability and overall building performance are becoming as critical as architectural quality and innovation. He highlighted the importance of engaging young architects, noting that their perspectives are vital in shaping the future of façade design.

The jury also includes Francisco Diéguez Lorenzo, representing Institut de Tecnologia de la Construcció de Catalunya, who emphasised the awards’ role in promoting solutions that address contemporary construction challenges through rigorous technical expertise.
