Şişecam Details 2025 Performance and Strategic Actions at 90th General Assembly

Şişecam held its 90th Annual Ordinary General Assembly on March 27, 2026, where detailed insights into its 2025 performance and concrete operational actions were shared with shareholders.

Presenting the results, CEO Can Yücel highlighted how the company actively responded to a difficult global environment shaped by protectionist trade policies, supply chain disruptions, and cost volatility. Rather than slowing down, Şişecam implemented a group-wide Efficiency Management Program that directly improved margins and cash flow. This included tighter cost–price balancing, optimized furnace utilization rates, and the integration of digital tools and artificial intelligence into production and planning processes.

On the operational side, Şişecam took several targeted actions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. The company accelerated the cold repair schedule of its flat glass furnace in Northern Italy, minimizing long-term operational expenses. In Türkiye, it commissioned the Tarsus patterned glass furnace along with an energy glass processing line in September 2025, strengthening its position in value-added glass segments. Another notable move was the relocation of handmade glass production from Denizli to Kırklareli, where traditional production was integrated into a more modern, fully integrated, and energy-efficient facility.

In Europe, Şişecam streamlined its industrial footprint by consolidating encapsulation operations from Germany and Hungary into a single hub in Slovakia, improving logistics efficiency and supply chain coordination. Meanwhile, its 2.5-million-ton natural soda ash facility in Wyoming, USA, continued to provide a strong cost advantage due to its low carbon footprint and competitive production structure.

The company entered 2026 with continued momentum and several projects already underway. Şişecam began test production at its first glass packaging facility in Europe, located in Hungary, marking a strategic expansion in the region. It also commissioned two new coated glass lines in Bulgaria and Italy, reinforcing its capabilities in high-performance glass products. Additionally, the completion of its greenfield flat glass investment in Tarsus added 432,000 tons of annual production capacity.

From a financial standpoint, Şişecam secured funding from the International Finance Corporation to support investments in Türkiye and successfully issued a USD 500 million Eurobond, which generated USD 1.7 billion in demand, reflecting strong investor confidence.

Looking ahead, Şişecam will prioritize increasing the share of high value-added products, expanding in selected international markets, and further strengthening profitability through technology-driven efficiency and organizational restructuring.
