Schüco UK and Mace Construct have confirmed a new collaborative partnership focused on reducing embodied carbon in façade packages and supporting the wider decarbonisation agenda within the UK built environment. The agreement brings together Schüco’s façade engineering expertise and global supply chain with Mace Construct’s delivery experience across complex building projects, aiming to raise the benchmark for low-carbon, high-performance building envelopes.
At the centre of the partnership is a clear operational focus: lowering carbon impact in façade solutions while improving the level of measurable transparency available to project teams. This includes access to Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), support for responsible material selection, and a sustainable product portfolio intended to simplify decision-making across design and procurement stages.
The collaboration also places emphasis on strengthening technical alignment between specification and execution. By combining early-stage façade support with project-phase coordination, Schüco and Mace aim to reduce late-stage changes and optimise façade performance outcomes, from thermal and weather protection to durability and compliance planning.
Phil Sedge, Head of Façades at Mace Construct, highlighted the practical value of the partnership, describing Schüco as “a trusted partner” supporting the firm’s decarbonisation efforts. He also pointed to Schüco’s Value Up and Low Carbon offers, alongside their technical and supply-chain strengths, as key reasons behind the collaboration.
Dan Gleeson, Sales Director at Schüco UK, added that Mace Construct’s low-carbon targets are among the most ambitious in the market, underlining Schüco’s intention to support measurable progress in façade carbon reduction across upcoming UK developments.
