A sensitive Grade II listed farmhouse renovation in Leicestershire has been successfully completed with the installation of Residence 9 windows from The Residence Collection, delivering a refined balance between heritage authenticity and modern performance. The rural property, formerly part of Osbaston House Farm, is located within the Osbaston Conservation Area and has been transformed into a spacious five-bedroom detached residence.
The wider project involved the conversion of a cluster of historic barns into a single dwelling of over 5,500 sq ft, led by Lychgate Bespoke in collaboration with HSSP Architects. Window installation was delivered by Swadlincote Windows, using a total of 38 Residence 9 windows alongside two bespoke shaped units.

Finished in the traditional Clotted Cream colourway internally and externally, the windows were selected for their authentic timber appearance and their ability to meet strict conservation requirements. Residence 9 has gained consistent approval for use in conservation areas and listed buildings across the UK, making it a preferred solution where planning sensitivity is critical.
Technically, the system features fully mechanical jointing to replicate traditional timber joinery, while benefiting from modern PVCu durability and low maintenance. Glazing specifications included laminated units and Planitherm glass, enhancing thermal performance, comfort and security. Satin chrome pear drop hardware completed the heritage aesthetic.
