SORG Group has secured two major furnace modernisation contracts at the Heinz-Glas plant in Działdowo, reinforcing a long-standing partnership focused on high-performance and future-ready glass melting technology.
The projects involve the reconstruction of two core melting units: a fully electric VSM Melter and a Regenerative Endport Furnace, both critical to Heinz-Glas’ premium glass packaging production. The modernisations are designed to enhance operational efficiency, reliability, and process control, while aligning with the industry’s increasing focus on electrification and sustainable melting concepts.
All three companies under the SORG Group umbrella are actively involved. EME is responsible for extending and modernising the cullet handling systems for both furnaces, including upgrades to the batch house and cullet return control systems, ensuring smoother material flow and improved automation. Nikolaus Sorg is leading the engineering, equipment supply, and technical services, with the VSM Melter reconstruction notably including an expansion of the melting surface to support higher performance and flexibility.
Meanwhile, SKS, supported by Sorg Polska, is managing the complete service scope, from furnace draining and demolition through steel works, refractory construction, heating-up, and final filling.
