Pyroguard Expands Into India With Strategic Manufacturing Partnership

Pyroguard, a global leader in fire-resistant glazing solutions, has announced a new manufacturing partnership in India with South Glass, marking a significant step in its international expansion strategy.

The collaboration reflects Pyroguard’s long-term commitment to the Indian market and its intention to strengthen regional capabilities amid rising demand for fire-rated glass across India and the Middle East. By establishing a local manufacturing base, the company aims to reduce lead times, enhance technical and sales support, and ensure full alignment with Indian building and fire safety regulations while maintaining its globally recognised performance standards.

Strengthening Regional Presence

India’s fast-growing infrastructure and commercial real estate sectors, combined with increasingly stringent fire safety requirements, are driving demand for high-performance glazing systems. With production now based in Hyderabad, Pyroguard is positioned to collaborate more closely with architects, developers, and contractors on projects requiring tailored fire-rated solutions.

The new facility will support a wide range of applications, including doors, partitions, façades, and curtain wall systems, enabling greater flexibility and efficiency in project delivery.

Steve Goodburn, Business Development Director at Pyroguard, highlighted the importance of this move, stating that local manufacturing allows the company to better support architects working to regional specifications while improving responsiveness and service levels.

Proven Track Record in India

Pyroguard is not new to the Indian market. For over a decade, the company has supplied fire-resistant glazing from its manufacturing sites in the UK and France, contributing to several high-profile developments. These include projects such as Vivanta by Taj Dwarka, Windsor Group IT Park in Noida, and multiple high-rise developments in Hyderabad.

The new partnership builds on this foundation, transitioning from export-based supply to a more integrated, localised production model.

Certified Performance and Product Range

The Hyderabad plant will manufacture key Pyroguard products, including Pyroguard Protect (13 mm fire safety glass) and Pyroguard Firesafe E120. Both products have undergone rigorous testing to meet Indian Standards (IS), ensuring compliance with local fire safety classifications.

Notably, the 13 mm Pyroguard Protect glass has been validated to achieve both EW120 and EI30 classifications, demonstrating its ability to deliver high levels of integrity and insulation under fire conditions.

This achievement underscores Pyroguard’s ongoing investment in regional testing, certification, and partnerships, reinforcing its commitment to advancing fire safety standards across emerging markets.

Long-Term Market Commitment

With an established sales network and a dedicated local team already in place, Pyroguard’s move into manufacturing represents a natural evolution of its presence in India. The company aims to deliver improved project efficiency, faster turnaround times, and consistent product quality to meet the needs of a rapidly developing construction sector.
