The North American Contractor Certification (NACC) program has reached a major milestone, certifying its 100th glazing contractor more than a decade after the initiative was first conceived. The achievement highlights the growing industry recognition of third-party certification as a benchmark for quality, safety and operational excellence in architectural glass and metal contracting.

NACC is currently the only certification program in the United States specifically designed for architectural glass and metal contractors. To earn certification, companies must undergo a rigorous assessment process that evaluates both business operations and glazing-specific procedures. Contractors are also required to document, implement and maintain a comprehensive quality management system.

According to NACC Program Director Jeff Dalaba, the certification enables glazing contractors to demonstrate, through independent verification and documented evidence, their commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and safe project execution.

The program continues to gain momentum across North America. In addition to the 100 certified contractors, another 21 companies are currently undergoing certification or recertification assessments. NACC expects the total number of certified contractors to reach 115 by the end of 2026.

Among the latest companies to achieve certification are Specified Systems Inc., based in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, and Ipswich Bay Glass of Rowley, Massachusetts, both of which earned certification in April 2026.

Emily W. Yukish, CEO of Specified Systems, said the certification process helped formalize existing operational practices while reinforcing consistency and continuous improvement throughout the organization. She noted that the process strengthened internal procedures, reduced risk and enhanced the company’s ability to deliver high levels of service to customers.
