Luben Glass has successfully installed two of its latest VR1 Neo mould polishing machines at Encirc’s production facility in Derrylin, Northern Ireland, reinforcing the glass manufacturer’s commitment to efficient, high-quality container production and continuous technological improvement.
The VR1 Neo represents the newest generation of mould polishing systems developed by Luben Glass. Designed with a complete restyling and technical upgrade, the machine offers increased dimensions and improved performance, alongside higher reliability, easier operation, and greater overall efficiency. The first two units produced in 2026 were recently commissioned at the Derrylin site following successful approval testing.
The newly installed machines are equipped with a 12-station vibrating table, enabling streamlined polishing workflows and improved productivity. A dedicated rotation system facilitates safer and faster mould loading and unloading operations, reducing operator effort and minimizing downtime during maintenance or changeovers.
Further enhancing operational efficiency, the systems include redesigned, larger polishing grit tanks positioned to allow gravity-based filling of moulds. This upgrade simplifies handling procedures and supports more consistent polishing results, contributing to higher mould quality and longer service life.
A major highlight of the installation is the integration of updated software running on the Siemens Unified HMIplatform. The new interface has been developed to be simple, intuitive, and accessible, allowing operators with varying levels of experience to manage the process effectively while reducing training requirements.
The installation reflects Encirc’s ongoing investment in modern production technologies aimed at improving process reliability and maintaining high standards in glass container manufacturing. For Luben Glass, the project marks a strong start to 2026, showcasing the performance and adaptability of the VR1 Neo system in a demanding industrial environment.
As glass producers continue to focus on efficiency, automation, and quality control, advanced mould preparation solutions like the VR1 Neo are becoming increasingly important components of modern container glass production lines.
