Glaston Corporation has announced a change within its Executive Leadership Team, as Riikka Laitasalo, Senior Vice President of People & Culture, prepares to step down from her role. Laitasalo will officially leave the company on April 17, 2026, to pursue new professional opportunities outside the organization.
During her tenure, Laitasalo played a key role in shaping Glaston’s global human resources framework. Her work focused on strengthening HR processes across the group while also advancing initiatives aimed at improving workplace wellbeing, an area that has become increasingly important in today’s evolving work environment.
Following her departure, Glaston has confirmed that it will not initiate a direct replacement for the SVP People & Culture role. Instead, the company will implement a structural shift in how these responsibilities are managed at the group level. Going forward, People & Culture functions will be overseen jointly by the CEO and the General Counsel, reflecting a more integrated leadership approach.
Commenting on the transition, Miika Äppelqvist expressed appreciation for Laitasalo’s contributions:
“I want to thank Riikka for her contribution at Glaston, and especially for developing the global HR processes and the initiatives for workplace wellbeing, and wish her all the best for the future.”
