Italian glassWAYS: GIMAV Creates a Connected Route for Italian Glass Technology

GIMAV is introducing Italian glassWAYS, a new international project designed to make Italy’s glass industry more visible and connected at major global trade fairs.

The initiative will debut at glasstec 2026, taking place in Düsseldorf from 20–23 October, where the Italian Pavilion in Hall 16 will serve as the starting point for a wider route connecting GIMAV member companies across the exhibition.

Rather than concentrating Italy’s presence in one location, Italian glassWAYS will link exhibitors positioned in different halls and areas of glasstec. The concept creates a recognizable physical and digital pathway through Italian technologies, machinery, solutions and specialist expertise, allowing international visitors to discover the country’s glass industry as a coordinated ecosystem.

The project is being developed alongside Casa GIMAV and is intended to extend beyond Düsseldorf. GIMAV plans to replicate the format at international events including China Glass and GlassBuild America, adapting the route to each exhibition and the location of participating Italian companies.

According to GIMAV General Manager Lucia Masutti, the objective is to move beyond simply being present at international fairs and instead create a recognizable route through which the market can discover Italian companies “as part of a wider system.”
