FGIA Releases Updated AAMA 307-26 Specification for Laminates on Certified Profiles

The Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA) has released an updated specification outlining minimum requirements for decorative laminate materials used on AAMA-certified profiles. The revised document, AAMA 307-26, Voluntary Specification for Laminates Intended for Use on AAMA Certified Profiles, provides updated guidance for laminates applied to both interior and exterior surfaces.

This marks the first update since 2016, reflecting evolving performance expectations and material advancements within the industry. The specification is designed to support architects, contractors, manufacturers, and building owners in selecting factory-applied laminates that ensure long-term durability and consistent performance. Key criteria addressed in the document include resistance to weathering, chemicals, and detergents, as well as compatibility with sealants, critical factors for maintaining both appearance and functionality over time.

According to FGIA representatives, the updated standard aims to simplify specification processes while ensuring that laminate applications meet reliable performance benchmarks across a variety of environments. AAMA 307-26 is also referenced within the North American Fenestration Standard (NAFS), reinforcing its importance within the broader regulatory framework.

The document is now available through the FGIA online store, offering access to both members and non-members seeking to align with current industry standards.
