Exemplary Achievements Unveiled: FGIA Celebrates Outstanding Industry Leaders During 2024 Annual Awards Ceremony
The Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA) gathered to acknowledge and applaud the outstanding achievements of its members at the Annual Awards Ceremony, a highlight concluding the second day of the 2024 FGIA Annual Conference. The ceremony, filled with camaraderie and applause, featured awards presented by the previous year’s winners, recognizing exceptional efforts in advancing the work of the Association and the industry at large throughout 2023.
One of the notable recipients, Steve Fronek of Apogee Enterprises, received the prestigious Outstanding Service Award, an accolade presented by Robert Jutras, Principal Engineer at UL. Fronek, a longstanding industry leader, was lauded for his technical expertise and dedication, with significant contributions as Chair of the FGIA Test Method for Thermal Cycling of Exterior Wall Review Task Group.
Lothar Erkens of Winco Window Company earned the Architectural Distinguished Service Award, an honor bestowed by the previous year’s recipient, Steve Fronek. Recognized for his brilliance in engineering and invention, Erkens serves as Vice Chair of various FGIA committees and task groups, contributing extensively to the industry.
Lisa Bergeron, Director of Business Development and Government Affairs at JELD-WEN, was honored with the Residential Products Group Distinguished Service Award. Presented by previous awardee Kevin Seiling of VEKA, Bergeron was praised for her collaborative leadership and visionary contributions, earning her the title of 2016 ENERGY STAR® Champion of the Year.
Jeff Haberer, Director of Technical Services at Trulite Glass and Aluminum Solutions, received the Glass Products Council Distinguished Service Award from Jim Blamble of Sika Corporation. Haberer’s commitment to knowledge-sharing, particularly at the Insulating Glass (IG) Fabricators Workshop, earned him this recognition.
The Marketing Distinguished Service Award went to Josh Wignall, Director of Commercial Sales and Marketing at Quaker Windows and Doors, presented by Neall Digert of Kingspan Light + Air. Wignall’s positive impact on the FGIA marketing council and his dedication to collaboration and creativity were highlighted in the nominations.
In a special acknowledgment, Winco Window Company received the Chairman’s Award for its unwavering commitment and significant contributions to FGIA over the years. Recognized for their leadership in committees, support of education initiatives, and recent participation in seismic shake test projects, Winco Window Company marks 60 years of Association membership in March 2024.
The Annual Awards Ceremony served as a testament to the remarkable individuals and companies shaping the future of the fenestration and glazing industry, inspiring excellence, and fostering innovation.
