Ferdows Apartment, designed by HSH Design Studio and completed in 2025, is a contemporary residential building located in the Shahgoli district of Tabriz, Iran. Positioned on a compact 460 m² site with a total built-up area of approximately 2,710 m², the project reflects a careful response to urban density while prioritizing livability, spatial quality, and architectural expression. Rising eight levels, including a basement, ground floor, and six residential floors, the building demonstrates a refined balance between functionality and aesthetic ambition.
One of the defining features of Ferdows Apartment is its thoughtful integration of environmental and social spaces within a vertical residential structure. The basement level is not merely a service zone but a wellness-oriented space containing a sports hall. A sunken garden introduces daylight and greenery deep into the building’s core, transforming what is typically an enclosed underground level into a bright and connected environment. This design gesture also strengthens the relationship between indoor activity spaces and the adjacent courtyard atmosphere.
The ground floor is dedicated to parking for nine vehicles and a residential lobby, carefully separating pedestrian movement from vehicular access. This separation enhances clarity in circulation and reinforces a sense of calm arrival for residents and visitors. Above, each of the six residential floors is designed as a single expansive unit of approximately 340 m². These apartments include three bedrooms, generous living spaces, and large balconies that extend the interior into the exterior environment.

A key architectural strategy of the project is its emphasis on open-air living. The balconies are not simple extensions but landscaped semi-outdoor spaces enriched with vegetation. These green terraces provide shade, improve microclimatic conditions, and create a continuous dialogue between residents and nature. They also enable visual interaction between floors, fostering a subtle sense of community within the vertical building.
At the top of the structure, the rooftop is conceived as a green roof accessible directly by elevator. This space functions as both a communal garden and a climatic buffer, contributing to thermal regulation and offering panoramic views of the surrounding cityscape.
The façade design of Ferdows Apartment draws inspiration from traditional brickwork patterns and the interplay of light and shadow found in Iranian architectural heritage. Arched elements introduce rhythm and identity, while the composition of solid and void creates a dynamic visual experience throughout the day.
