Clearlight Glass & Mirror Expands Southeast Footprint with Stoneville, North Carolina Facility Acquisition

Clearlight Glass & Mirror has announced the acquisition of a glass fabrication facility in Stoneville, North Carolina, formerly operated by Press Glass. The strategic move marks a significant expansion of Clearlight’s manufacturing capacity and reinforces its long-term commitment to domestic glass fabrication and regional service excellence across the Southeastern United States.

The Stoneville facility substantially enhances Clearlight’s production resilience and operational flexibility. Designed to process glass thicknesses ranging from 3/32″ to 3/4″, the site supports a diverse product mix including clear, low-iron, low-E coated, and patterned glass substrates. This enables Clearlight to serve a broader spectrum of residential, light-commercial, and specialty glazing applications with improved lead times and greater consistency.

Expanded Capabilities and Redundancy

With the addition of the Stoneville operation, Clearlight significantly increases its high-volume and value-added processing capabilities, including:

  • Insulated glass units (IGUs)
  • Laminated glass
  • Back-painted glass
  • Digital ceramic printing
  • High-throughput tempering

A key advantage of the acquisition lies in built-in equipment redundancy. Multiple tempering ovens, CNC machining centers, cutting tables, and integrated logistics assets help reduce production bottlenecks, improve schedule reliability, and mitigate operational risk, critical factors for customers working under tight construction timelines.

Leadership Perspective

William Calhoun, CEO of Clearlight Glass & Mirror, highlighted the strategic importance of the investment, noting that the facility strengthens the company’s ability to deliver consistent quality at scale while supporting increasingly complex project requirements. He also acknowledged the strong operational foundation established at the site by previous owners.

Chief Operating Officer Dio Guerra emphasized that the combination of skilled personnel, advanced equipment, and a strategic geographic location creates a robust platform for long-term growth, without compromising the craftsmanship and responsiveness Clearlight’s customers expect.

The transition was welcomed by Press Glass, as a positive outcome for the local market. Brett Ashley, President of Press Glass, Inc., noted that Clearlight’s investment supports continued employment and economic activity in the Stoneville community.
