Big 5 Construct South Africa Returns with CPD-Certified Talks and Global Industry Participation

The 14th edition of Big 5 Construct South Africa will take place from 9 to 11 June 2026 at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Johannesburg, bringing together key players from across the construction and infrastructure sectors. Alongside the exhibition, the event will host more than 20 free-to-attend, CPD-certified Big 5 Talks sessions covering seven specialised themes focused on the future of the built environment.

This year’s programme arrives at a critical time for South Africa’s construction industry as stakeholders seek practical solutions and strategic partnerships capable of supporting the goals outlined in the National Development Plan 2030 and the National Infrastructure Plan 2050. The talks will focus on sustainability, safety, technology, urban regeneration and infrastructure delivery, providing industry professionals with actionable insights from leading experts.

Among the featured speakers is Charles Nduku, President of the South African Council for the Architectural Profession, who will discuss the role of nature-based design principles in creating healthier and more resilient urban environments. Bongani Dladla, Chief Executive Officer of the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), will lead discussions on improving safety standards, workforce training and skills development across Africa’s construction sector. Holger Redecker, Chief Executive Officer of Maurer, will explore how predictive maintenance and structural health monitoring can improve infrastructure performance and extend project lifespans.

The event will also showcase more than 250 exhibitors from over 25 countries, representing manufacturers, contractors, consultants, developers and service providers from across the construction supply chain. International country pavilions from China, Italy, Malaysia, Pakistan and the UAE highlight growing global interest in South Africa’s infrastructure and construction market.

Leading brands participating include Robert Bosch Power Tools, TAL, Maurer Africa, Stanley Black & Decker, Grundfos, Ariston, Akzo Nobel, Alumil Misr and Top Werk.
