The Aviatica office building in Prague stands as a distinctive contemporary development within the Waltrovka business district, combining modern façade engineering with high-performance glazing solutions.
The building was designed by Jakub Cigler Architects, with its name referencing the aircraft engine manufacturing once carried out in the former industrial complex on the site. Today, Aviatica represents the transformation of the area into a modern commercial hub while preserving a connection to its industrial heritage.

Architecturally, the structure is characterized by a dynamic façade composed of aluminium profiles combined with glass ceilings and horizontal ledges. Rather than relying on conventional façade connections to floor slabs, the envelope creates a layered visual effect that emphasizes horizontal articulation and transparency.
A key element of the building’s façade performance is the use of Guardian SunGuard SNX 60/28 solar control glass, developed by Guardian Glass. The glazing solution provides a neutral, transparent appearance with low external reflection while allowing high levels of natural daylight to enter interior spaces.

At the same time, the solar-control coating limits solar heat gain, helping maintain comfortable indoor conditions and improving overall building energy efficiency. This balance between daylight transmission and solar protection contributes to a productive and comfortable working environment for occupants.
The project has achieved LEED Gold certification, reflecting the integration of energy-efficient systems and advanced building management strategies throughout the development.
The façade delivery involved several key industry partners, including glass fabrication by ISOSKLO and glazing works carried out by Skanska a.s..
