4 Wellington Place is a contemporary office development located within the Wellington Place commercial district in Leeds. The building forms part of the wider Wellington Place regeneration project, a large mixed-use urban development designed to create a modern business and leisure environment in the heart of the city.
The project was designed by Sheppard Robson and delivered by Wates Construction. The building provides approximately 153,000 sq ft of Grade-A office space arranged over eight storeys, offering flexible floorplates designed to meet the needs of modern workplaces and corporate tenants.

One of the defining architectural features of the project is its triangular floorplate of around 22,000 sq ft, which responds to the site’s geometry and gives the building a distinctive form within the Wellington Place campus. The ground level includes retail and leisure spaces, helping activate the street level and contribute to the mixed-use character of the development.
The façade system uses an aluminium curtain wall solution with a 60 mm face width supplied by Aluprof, combining a slim aesthetic with strong structural and thermal performance. The façade fabrication was carried out by Speedclad, while the exterior incorporates anodised aluminium finishes that enhance durability and visual consistency.

Structural engineering for the project was provided by Curtins, while building services engineering was delivered by Arup. The development was commissioned by MEPC, the company responsible for the overall Wellington Place masterplan.
Completed with a strong focus on environmental performance, the building achieved BREEAM Excellent certification, reflecting its sustainable design approach and energy-efficient building systems.
