Viprotron Customer Success Story: ITI Glass Installation in the United States

When a quality-control solution proves its value in real production conditions, its impact becomes immediately clear. This is the case with Viprotron and its recent installation at ITI Glass, a U.S.-based glass manufacturer focused on consistent performance and measurable quality.

Following the installation of Viprotron’s camera-based glass inspection system, ITI Glass reported a significant shift in how quality is monitored and managed on the production floor. The system provides continuous, objective inspection data rather than relying solely on manual visual checks, which are often subjective and limited by human perception.

According to Andrew Wickham, General Manager at ITI Glass, the impact was immediate:

These cameras are incredible! This is a game changer for our plant and will allow us to finally have hard data to correlate to our quality specs. I wish we had this system earlier to tune our furnace recipes.

The ability to collect hard, quantifiable data is a critical advantage. Viprotron’s inspection technology captures defects and optical irregularities that may not be consistently visible to the human eye, enabling ITI Glass to link observed quality outcomes directly to furnace parameters and process settings. This data-driven feedback loop allows production teams to fine-tune furnace recipes, reduce variability, and improve repeatability across batches.

Beyond defect detection, the system supports long-term process optimisation. By correlating inspection results with production conditions, ITI Glass can identify trends, address root causes, and maintain tighter control over quality specifications. This leads not only to improved product consistency, but also to reduced scrap, higher customer confidence, and more predictable production performance.
