After more than 50 years of shaping glass packaging across West and Central Africa, Beta Glass is entering an exciting new chapter. Frigoglass Group, its long-time parent, has agreed to sell its entire stake in Beta Glass and its Nigerian operations to Helios Investment Partners, an Africa-focused private equity firm, in a deal worth up to €100 million. The transaction, which includes Beta Glass Plc and Frigoglass Industries Nigeria Ltd, is expected to close in Q1 2026, pending regulatory approval.

“This marks the culmination of nearly three years of transformation, growth, and operational excellence,” said Gagik Apkarian, Chairman of Frigoglass Group. “Beta Glass’ record-breaking performance and strong margins have made it an attractive opportunity for both domestic and international investors.”
Beta Glass is not your typical glass manufacturer. Its operations are fully integrated, producing:
- Glass containers – over 720 tonnes daily, in White Flint, Amber, and Emerald Green, serving beverages, spirits, and pharmaceuticals;
- Metal crowns – over 3.2 billion units annually;
- Plastic crates – more than 5.5 million per year, supporting a returnable bottle ecosystem that promotes sustainability.
Its products reach Nigeria and more than 15 other countries in West and Central Africa, making it a go-to supplier for soft drinks, beer, spirits, and pharmaceutical brands alike.

For Helios, acquiring Beta Glass is more than buying a company, it’s about investing in a platform with huge growth potential. Rising urban populations, expanding middle classes, and a shift toward recyclable glass packaging in Africa create the perfect environment for Beta Glass to thrive. Analysts predict the company will expand production, modernize technology, and continue delivering top-quality products across the region.
Both Frigoglass and Beta Glass stress that operations will continue without disruption. Customers, partners, and suppliers can expect business continuity during the transition. Alex Gendis, CEO of Beta Glass, said: “We welcome Helios and are excited about the future. Our commitment to customers and partners remains unchanged.”
