NovaSklo is leading the development of Ukraine’s first advanced float glass manufacturing facility, set near Kyiv and expected to begin operations by 2028. This €240 million project aims to boost Ukraine’s industrial capabilities and reduce reliance on imported glass.
The project brings together three European industry leaders: Horn Glass Industries (Germany), Bottero S.p.A. (Italy), and Zippe Industrieanlagen GmbH (Germany). Horn will provide glass melting technologies, Bottero will handle automation and glass processing, while Zippe will deliver a state-of-the-art batch plant and cullet recycling system, developed collaboratively with the NovaSklo team and local engineers.
The plant will produce around 24.8 million square meters of glass annually, including clear float, low-iron, laminated architectural, low-emissivity, solar control, multifunctional coated glass, mirror glass, and jumbo sheets up to 12 meters long. Using locally sourced high-purity quartz sand, the facility promises exceptional glass quality.
Beyond production, the plant is expected to create over 300 jobs in its first year, playing a vital role in Ukraine’s post-war economic recovery and sustainable industrial growth.
