Beyond PVC: Recycling Milestones:
Not only did Window Widgets successfully divert PVC waste, but they also recycled various materials, including 10 tonnes of cardboard, 5.2 tonnes of aluminium swarf, 21.7 tonnes of wood, and 1.6 tonnes of WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) and metal. This comprehensive approach reflects the company’s holistic commitment to waste reduction and recycling.
The Journey to Zero Landfill:
Window Widgets achieved zero landfill waste in February 2021, marking the culmination of a dedicated two-and-a-half-year waste management program. The journey commenced in May 2018, with strategic steps such as engaging with recycling processing equipment suppliers, joining forces with partners like Penfold Plastics, and implementing efficient waste management practices.

- August 2018: Engagement with recycling processing equipment supplier
- December 2018: Partnership with Penfold Plastics for head waste and profile lengths recycling
- January 2019: Deployment of ordered waste processing equipment
- Throughout 2019: Diligent waste segregation and preparation for recycling
- November 2020: Order of an additional compactor for enhanced efficiency
- February 2021: Shift to Archer Recycling for waste collection, marking the final step towards zero landfill status.
