Rising in Seattle’s bustling tech corridor, Cascadian sets a new benchmark as the city’s first LEED® Platinum Certified life science facility. Designed by Perkins&Will, the nine-story building merges elegant design with sustainable performance, thanks to the combined expertise of Vitrum™ Glass GroupGuardian Glass, and Walters & Wolf.

Its façade showcases a dynamic rhythm of vertical spandrel and vision panels, fabricated by Vitrum and installed by Walters & Wolf. The glazing features Guardian SunGuard™ SNX 62/27 triple-silver coating on UltraClear™ and clear glass, offering 64% visible light transmission and a solar heat gain coefficient of 0.27, optimising daylight while maintaining energy efficiency and clarity.

“Cascadian’s design is driven by glass,” said Sid Garcia, Project Manager at Vitrum. “Earning LEED Platinum® certification demonstrates that the building performs as beautifully as it looks.”

Honoured with a 2024 Guardian Glass Commercial Project Award, Cascadian exemplifies how thoughtful glass specification and long-standing industry partnerships can result in architecture that meets the highest standards of sustainability, energy control, and visual appeal, a true collaboration between design innovation and glass craftsmanship.
