Verallia, one of the world’s leading producers of glass containers, has partnered with Oleificio Zucchi to design a new olive oil bottle that merges sustainability, innovation, and brand identity. This project is a milestone in the evolving relationship between premium food products and advanced glass packaging solutions.
Design Meets Functionality
The new bottle was co-designed with Zucchi and the branding agency Robilant & Associati. It features a refined, ergonomic shape for better grip and user comfort. A redesigned pourer ensures greater dosing precision, while a large, embossed paper label enhances shelf visibility and tactile appeal, important for a premium product experience.

A Leap in Sustainability
What truly sets the bottle apart is its material: made from 88% dark recycled glass. This not only shields the olive oil from light exposure, helping preserve its taste and quality, but also significantly reduces environmental impact. Verallia’s commitment to circular economy principles is evident, reflecting a broader industry shift toward low-carbon, eco-friendly glass production.
Innovation Driving the Glass Industry
This project highlights a growing trend in the glass industry: packaging as a storytelling tool. Glass, with its 100% recyclability and premium aesthetic, is increasingly favored by brands seeking to align with sustainability and quality. Verallia’s work with Zucchi is a prime example of how glass manufacturers are adapting to meet both functional and marketing demands.
