SINA Medical Glass has taken a significant step forward in establishing its new medical glass manufacturing facility in St Helens, UK, with the delivery of two advanced machines to the site. This marks the first phase of the project, supported by a £5.5 million investment through the St Helens Town Deal, alongside backing from Glass Futures, SGC Group Intl Limited, and Hambleden Capital.

The facility, housed in a newly refitted former distribution warehouse, is expected to create approximately 180 jobs, contributing significantly to the local economy. Walter Coxon, Director of SINA Medical Glass, highlighted the importance of the project, expressing gratitude for the support from St Helens Borough Council and the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority.

Once fully operational, the site will have the capacity to produce around 300 million glass containers annually. This output is sufficient to meet the UK’s domestic demand of 150-200 million containers, with surplus production aimed at export markets to satisfy global needs.

SINA Medical Glass is actively recruiting and collaborating with Glass Futures and local employment and training providers to ensure that community members have access to these new job opportunities, reinforcing the company’s commitment to supporting local workforce development and securing the UK’s medical glass supply chain.
