Grupo Tecnovidrio has marked a pivotal milestone with the launch of its new production facility in Toluca, Mexico, an expansion powered by TUROMAS technology and designed to elevate capacity, material flow and architectural project delivery. The plant incorporates two RUBI 517C float glass cutting tables, configured for high-precision cuts in large-format float glass and coated low-emissivity substrates, as well as an SR-07 automated storage and rack shuttle warehouse.
With 39 storage positions and a total capacity of 624 tonnes, the SR-07 system enables continuous loading thanks to an external reloading position that eliminates production stoppages during supply. Both cutting lines are engineered to process either two standard sheets simultaneously or one jumbo-sized pane, optimising throughput for façade-scale glazing.
Founded in 1992 by José Antonio Riestra, Tecnovidrio builds on a glassmaking lineage dating back to the early 20th century. Today, the company specialises in large-format architectural applications, including laminated, tempered and low-E solutions used in landmark projects such as Torre Virreyes, Torre Reforma and the Los Cabos Convention Centre, where oversized units were delivered under accelerated G20 schedules.
TUROMAS and Tecnovidrio developed the integration in phases, ensuring gradual automation, staff familiarisation and risk-free commissioning. The next stage will introduce two dedicated scrap warehouses, one per line, completing a closed-circuit utilisation system to minimise breakage waste and manual handling.
“The TUROMAS team understood our needs and was fully committed throughout this complex installation,” notes Managing Director José Antonio Riestra. “Their machinery is intuitive, robust and aligned with global technological standards.”

This cooperation reinforces Tecnovidrio’s long-standing philosophy: growth achieved through trust, technical partnership and consistency. With enhanced automation and precision-driven workflows, the Toluca plant now stands among Mexico’s most advanced glass transformation sites, prepared to meet escalating façade demands with speed, accuracy and industrial control.
