Sanya International Duty Free City, the world’s largest standalone duty-free complex, has become a landmark attraction in Hainan. Located in Haitang Bay’s National Coast core area, the 374-acre project has earned prestigious honors such as the China Construction Engineering Luban Prize and recognition as a Hainan Province Green Building Demonstration Project.
NorthGlass played a pivotal role in shaping this iconic development by supplying all the curtain wall glass for Phase I. The project demanded jumbo curved tempered glass with arc lengths exceeding 5 meters, a challenge few manufacturers could meet. Utilizing its independently developed super-large arc tempering furnace, capable of producing curved glass up to 8 meters, NorthGlass overcame these technical hurdles. Through precise engineering and process control, the company achieved stable large-scale production.

The resulting curved glass not only delivers exceptional optical clarity but also surpasses industry standards in arc smoothness, shape accuracy, and dimensional precision. Combined with an innovative insulating energy-saving system and flexible warm-edge sealing technology, the glass ensures superior durability and efficiency.
Sanya International Duty Free City stands as a shining example of NorthGlass’ expertise in glass deep processing, setting a benchmark for future large-scale architectural projects worldwide.
