We are pleased to announce that Stara Glass, has chosen to implement CelSian’’s GTM-X software for their advanced furnace modelling and research and development initiatives.
This strategic adoption marks a significant step for Stara Glass as they continue to pursue efficiency gains in their glass furnace design and operational processes.
For a considerable period, Stara Glass successfully leveraged a CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) code developed by Genoa University for their simulation needs. However, following extensive collaboration with CelSian on various projects, Stara Glass engineers recognised the distinct advantages and capabilities offered by the GTM-X platform. This direct experience and demonstrated value ultimately led to the decision to integrate GTM-X into their established workflow.
GTM-X is specifically engineered to address the unique complexities of glass furnace environments. Its specialized glass models, coupled with the dedicated support from CelSian’s team of experienced CFD experts, provide a powerful toolset for in-depth analysis and optimization. The software’s utility extends beyond the initial design and rebuild phases, offering substantial value throughout the entire operational lifecycle of a furnace. By enabling detailed analysis and assisting in the resolution of operational challenges, GTM-X plays a crucial role in ensuring the stability and efficiency of glass furnace operations.
Harmen Kielstra, Managing Director at CelSian, commented on the development, stating, “We are delighted to welcome Stara Glass to the GTM-X user community. Their decision to adopt GTM-X reflects the software’s growing reputation as the preferred CFD solution for glass furnace engineering. We look forward to supporting Stara Glass in optimising their processes and achieving their performance goals.”
This collaboration underscores CelSian’s ongoing commitment to providing the glass industry with cutting-edge tools and expert knowledge. By equipping manufacturers and designers with advanced simulation capabilities like those offered by GTM-X, CelSian empowers them to achieve greater operational excellence, improve energy efficiency, and enhance overall furnace performance. We anticipate this partnership will yield positive results for Stara Glass and further solidify GTM-X’s position as a leading solution in glass furnace simulation.
