The Sorg Group recently completed the cold repair and modernization of an oxy-fuel furnace at Ursa Insulation’s Novo Mesto facility in Slovenia. This furnace produces C-Glass insulation wool, a vital material in the glass insulation industry.
Nikolaus Sorg led the engineering and equipment delivery, focusing on enhanced safety and efficiency. EME modernized the external cullet handling system by installing advanced processing equipment and a custom control cabinet designed for long-term performance and energy savings.
SKS managed the demolition of the old furnace, steel construction, heating-up, filling, and commissioning of the new system. Sorg Polska handled refractory and steel installations to ensure structural durability.
