Şişecam presented its latest solar energy glass innovations at Solarex Istanbul, underscoring its growing role in the global transition toward renewable energy. Backed by strong flat glass manufacturing capabilities and ongoing investments, the company highlighted both its expanding production capacity and its focus on next-generation technologies.

At the center of its showcase was SolarMax, a high-performance glass solution developed specifically for photovoltaic modules. Engineered with a low-iron composition, SolarMax delivers high light transmittance, allowing more sunlight to reach solar cells and improve overall energy output. Its Anti-Reflective (AR) coating further enhances efficiency by minimizing surface reflection, ensuring maximum light absorption. In addition to performance, the product is designed for durability in demanding environments. Its temperable structure increases mechanical strength, making it well-suited for large-scale commercial and industrial solar installations exposed to harsh weather conditions.

Şişecam’s strategic investments have significantly increased its solar glass production capacity, by approximately 3.5 times, reflecting a clear commitment to scaling up in response to rising global demand. This expansion is supported by the company’s integrated production infrastructure, engineering expertise, and advanced research and development capabilities, all of which contribute to the continuous improvement of its solar glass portfolio.

Another key highlight at the fair was Şişecam Charger, developed in collaboration with ML System. This Building-Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) solution transforms conventional glass surfaces into energy-generating elements for façades and roofs. By combining architectural design with functionality, the product enables buildings to produce their own electricity without compromising aesthetics, aligning with the increasing demand for sustainable construction solutions.

According to Chief Marketing Officer Yılmaz Erceyes, the company’s continued investments in solar technologies and capacity expansion are reinforcing its position as a global player. With a strong supply chain and international production network, Şişecam aims to deliver high-performance solutions that support the evolving needs of the solar energy sector.
