Forterro has signed an agreement to acquire Klaes, in a move that significantly expands its capabilities across the window, door and façade industry and reinforces its strategy to become a fully integrated, material-agnostic software provider.
Founded in 1983 and headquartered in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, Klaes operates in more than 50 countries and delivers a comprehensive suite of digital solutions. These include its premium ERP platform for business management, the e-prod system for real-time production control and shopfloor optimisation, and specialised 3D software tailored for façade engineering and complex construction workflows. The company’s solutions are deeply embedded across the full operational chain, from quotation and configuration to manufacturing and installation.
The acquisition adds critical depth to Forterro’s Windows & Doors business unit, complementing Logikal, a benchmark in aluminium system design, and the former BM Group’s strong presence in the UK and Ireland residential market. Klaes specifically strengthens Forterro’s capabilities in PVC and timber, creating one of the industry’s most comprehensive cross-material portfolios.
Strategically, the move enables Forterro to cover the entire value chain with a unified digital ecosystem, allowing manufacturers to streamline workflows, reduce complexity, and improve production efficiency. A key focus going forward will be accelerated investment in cloud-based platforms, AI-driven process automation, and advanced data analytics, particularly in areas such as production planning, predictive maintenance, and performance optimisation.
Miriam Berzen described the deal as a “new phase of growth and performance,” highlighting access to expanded infrastructure and innovation capabilities, while maintaining Klaes’s independence and customer proximity.
Dean Forbes underlined the broader ambition: to enable faster and more effective digital transformation across both craft-based businesses and industrial-scale manufacturers.
