Saint-Gobain Glass has been shortlisted for the IOM3 Sustainable Future Awards 2025 in the Sustainable Materials Innovation for Net-Zero category, recognising its leadership in circular economy practices and low-carbon glass innovation.
The company’s pioneering efforts are exemplified through its Glass Forever flat glass recycling programme and ORAÉ®, the world’s first EPD-verified low-carbon flat glass product. Manufactured with up to 64% recycled content and powered by renewable electricity, ORAÉ® delivers a 42% lower carbon footprint than standard glass, marking a major step towards decarbonising the built environment.
Through Glass Forever, Saint-Gobain Glass has recovered nearly one million tonnes of pre- and post-consumer glass, saving 1.2 million tonnes of virgin raw materials and preventing 0.7 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions. Strategic investments at its Eggborough site, including a cullet processing plant and an energy-efficient furnace, further reinforce its net-zero ambitions for 2050.
Collaborating with forward-thinking partners such as GPE, Mace, and Eckersley O’Callaghan, the company is turning circularity into action through real-world projects that reuse glass within new building façades.
“Being shortlisted for this award reflects our unwavering commitment to sustainability, innovation, and partnership,” said Lee Glover, Sustainability & Net-Zero Delivery Manager at Saint-Gobain Glass.
