Celebrating its 60th anniversary, Rubin Glass Factory officially launched its newest facility, Bath Furnace No. 3, in Pleven, Bulgaria. This cutting-edge furnace is part of a major modernization effort supported by a 250 million leva investment from Postbank, marking a milestone in Rubin’s commitment to innovation and regional development.
The new furnace increases the workforce by 150 employees, bringing the total to over 600, and guarantees at least 15 years of sustainable industrial activity in Northwestern Bulgaria. Its advanced technology operates at 1350°C, featuring the latest burner system developed in partnership with leading German firms Nikolaus Sorg, Emhart Glass, and others.
The ceremonial ignition was performed by key figures including Rubin’s CEO Nikolay Mochev, Nikolaus Sorg’s Managing Partner Alexander Sorg, Emhart Glass’s Werner Gessner, and Postbank CEO Assen Yagodin. The event was blessed by Metropolitan Anthony, who performed a water blessing for the furnace’s success.
Speakers at the ceremony emphasized the project’s technological, economic, and social significance for Bulgaria and Europe. A celebratory reception followed, underscoring the strong partnerships and team dedication behind this achievement.
