Precision Glass Industries has strengthened its quality assurance capabilities with the installation of a new Softsolution LineScanner and LiteSentry Osprey Complete inspection system on its latest tempering line. The investment marks the company’s sixth LineScanner installation and its first Osprey system, reinforcing its commitment to producing consistently high-quality architectural and specialty glass.

Installed before the tempering furnace, the Softsolution LineScanner performs detailed inspections of incoming glass, identifying edge chips, surface defects, dimensional inaccuracies, and other imperfections before processing begins. Detecting issues at this stage helps reduce waste, minimize rework, and improve overall production efficiency by preventing defective glass from entering the furnace.

Following the tempering process, the LiteSentry Osprey Complete provides comprehensive final inspection. The system evaluates each glass pane for critical quality characteristics, including optical distortion, anisotropy, roller wave, and other performance parameters, ensuring every product meets demanding industry standards before shipment.

According to Abdeali Karimjee of Precision Glass Industries, combining the two inspection systems creates a more efficient production workflow by enabling early defect detection while providing final validation of product quality. This integrated approach enhances manufacturing consistency and supports the company’s goal of delivering reliable products to customers.

LiteSentry-Softsolution also highlighted the significance of the installation, noting that the combined technologies provide manufacturers with greater process control and confidence throughout production.
