Pioneer Trading Company has taken a significant step forward in PVC-U cill fabrication with the installation of the Graf SLS single-head CNC cill welder, supplied by Haffner Ltd, at its Essex manufacturing facility. The investment reflects Pioneer’s long-term strategy to improve product quality, efficiency, and consistency in an area of fabrication that has seen limited innovation for decades.

The Graf SLS is currently the only single-head CNC welder engineered specifically for seamless bay cill production. Unlike traditional methods, the machine delivers a perfectly seamless weld with fully automated sprue removal, eliminating the need for post-weld cleaning or manual finishing. This not only enhances surface aesthetics but also significantly reduces production time and labour dependency.

Designed for single-operator use, the Graf SLS improves throughput while maintaining high precision. Automatic profile measurement and continuous recalibration ensure tight tolerances, improved repeatability, and reduced material waste, key factors for fabricators facing rising costs and skills shortages.

Danny Williams, Managing Director of Pioneer Trading Company, described the machine as a “game-changer” for PVC-U cill production, highlighting both the finish quality and the de-skilling benefits it brings to the workshop. His decision was reinforced after seeing the Graf SLS operating live at FIT Show 2025, where the machine’s capabilities became immediately clear.
